Free NHS Eye Examination
Call 01698 861333 to book
In Scotland, everyone is entitled to a free NHS funded eye examination. As well as checking your vision, an eye test is an important health check too. As part of your eye test, the Optician will check your vision, assess whether glasses are required to improve your vision and carry out various tests to check the health of your eyes. There are many common eye problems such as cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma which can be picked up an managed by the Optician. As well as eye problems, sometimes more general and systemic health conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes could be identified in an eye test. It is recommended that you should have an eye check every two years. Sometimes we will recommend a more regular check every year but this will vary person to person. If you haven't had an eye check in the last two years, give us a call to book an appointment.

NHS Funded Glasses
We offer a great selection of frames for patients entitled to an NHS Voucher for spectacles. To find out if you may be entitled please check here.
Childrens Spectacles
Children under 16 who require glasses are entitled to an NHS Voucher. We have a fantastic range of free glasses for kids and teens of all ages. For those aged 16- 18 and in full time education, this also applies. It is of course an option to pay to upgrade to a designer frame.
Contact Lenses
Contact Lenses can be a great alternative to spectacle correction. They allow freedom from having to wear glasses all the time. We offer soft contact lenses in daily replacement, two weekly replacement and monthly replacement. If you would like to discuss your suitability for contact lenses, you can ask the Optician at your eye test.
